Why is PRP good for your hair?

26th January 2023

Let’s break it down for you!

Platelet-Rich-Plasma (PRP) is based on the idea that the body has intrinsic healing powers potent enough to lessen signs of ageing and encourage hair growth.

At Lumiere Clinic, a small sample of blood is drawn in order to administer this treatment. Then, a centrifuge is used to separate the platelets, serum, and blood cells.

After being taken out, the platelet-rich plasma is promptly reinjected into the scalp or face. PRP platelets release growth factors that drive cells to generate new tissue, assisting the body’s natural ability to mend itself.

How does this treatment work?

When injected into the skin, this procedure has been shown to effectively reduce fine wrinkles, uneven skin tone, and dull skin. Additionally, it promotes the development of healthy skin and hair.

When administered to the scalp, this treatment promotes the creation of new cells and effectively improves hair growth for a number of hair diseases. This method is suitable for persons who want to boost hair growth without using or taking any medications.

How long does the procedure last, and how long must I wait before I notice results?

The PRP hair treatment requires no surgery and is relatively non-invasive.

Results may not show up for a few weeks following three to six monthly treatments, but they can be maintained with treatments every three to six months.

How can I book in for this treatment myself?

First of all you will need a consultation with our dermatologist Dr Nicole, just to check that you are suitable for the PRP.
