Following our previous case study, we were lucky enough for the patient to come back 12 months later to continue their Melasma treatment case study. This time the patient will be undergoing the Dermamelan peel.
As we mentioned in the last case study Melasma and sunspots were the primary reasons the patient in this case study first visited the clinic. The patient’s confidence was being impacted by these problems, which were making them self-conscious of their skin. Dr. Nicole gave the patient information about their melasma and listed possible treatments after our dermatologist thoroughly examined their skin.
Here is how their progress with the Dermamelan peel went on.
The Next Stage
12 months following on from the Cosmelan Peel, the patient had a Dermamelan Peel in July 2022
This what the peel involves:
A medical-grade chemical peel called Dermamelan has a powerful restorative effect on skin discolouration and pigmentation. It has a mix of active ingredients that have been shown to be effective in regulating melanin overproduction, inhibiting, and managing the emergence of dark spots. The four therapy steps are spread out across a one-year skin care regimen to produce an all-around, effective result.
The was the first day of the peel.
Here you can get a full face view of where the peel has been applied.
The was how the skin looked the day after the peel.
As you can see from the image, the skin has started to lift from the face and peel. Also note that due to the nature of the peel the skin will also swell up slightly.
As you can see the top layer skin will start to become more flakey.
The skin will also continue to swell at the stage, but don't worry this is to be expected.
At this stage we are now halfway through the treatment.
Here you can see the peel really start to work through the skin, removing the traces of Melasma.
Now the top layer of skin has peeled you will start to see alight difference in the pigmentation. Once the skin has relaxed and swelling has gone you will start to see a difference in your skin.
The skin will also start to develop a slight puffiness that will ease during the healing process.
The final outcome. Fresh, clear skin!
This image was once the skin had fully healed.
