Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal permanently reduces hair growth in the treatment area by up to 80%*. The laser hair removal treatment we offer is suitable for all areas of the face and body, including the arms, legs, chest and back.

At Lumiere Clinic, we use an advanced medical grade Diode laser machine for hair removal that has been carefully selected by our Dermatologist, which makes this treatment safe and effective for all skin types. Compared to using Intense-Pulsed Light (IPL) for hair removal, Diode laser is a more effective treatment for hair removal and a safer option for darker skin types. Our laser hair removal system also uses cooling technology to soothe the skin during the treatment resulting in improved treatment comfort, skin safety and protection.

You will be rest assured that your treatments at Lumiere Clinic are performed by an experienced, qualified team. Our laser hair removal treatments are performed by an experienced, advanced Laser Practitioner (who is also a laser trainer) and the clinic is led by a Dermatologist who has a special interest in hair disorders.

Permanently reduce unwanted hair growth

Our laser hair removal treatment is a suitable for both the face and body and after a course of treatments, frees you from unwanted and problematic hair growth. The laser hair removal treatment delivers bursts of concentrated light energy to the treatment area, which is absorbed by the pigment in the hair. This energy then destroys the root of the treated hair, lessening its ability to regrow and rendering the root inactive.

The advanced laser hair removal treatment at Lumiere Clinic has the following features:

  1. Permanently reduces hair growth in your treated areas
  2. Reduces hair growth by up to 80%*
  3. Suitable for use on both the face and body
  4. Market-leading advanced Subzero IceTip™ cooling technology allows for more comfortable treatment with minimal pain

*Individual results may vary.

Frequently Asked Questions

About Laser Hair Removal at Lumiere Clinic

  1. How does laser hair removal work?

Laser hair removal delivers concentrated bursts of light energy to your treatment area. The pigment in your hair absorbs this light and conducts it to the follicle root that is heated to a high degree. This destroys the active hair follicles in the treatment area and greatly lessens its chances of producing another hair, resulting in it eventually becoming dormant. Because your hair grows in cycles, this treatment only works on hairs in the active growth stage, so a course of repeated treatments is necessary.

  2. What laser hair removal system do you use?

We use a medical grade Diode laser machine by Lynton Lasers, an award-winning British laser manufacturer. This device has been carefully selected due to the above features by our Dermatologist who has a special research interest in hair disorders due to the following key features: effectiveness of treatment, safety across all skin types, and more comfortable treatment with minimal pain.

  3. Who is suitable for laser hair removal?

The system we use treats all skin types, although the treatment is more effective for certain hair colours and skin tones. For example, those with fair skin and dark hair are the best candidates for this treatment. We will discuss your individual needs and assess your suitability at your initial consultation.

  4. How many treatments will I need?

This will vary from client to client depending on your hair growth cycle, hair thickness, and colour. We usually recommend a full course of 6 – 8 treatments in order to provide permanent hair reduction and achieve the best results for you.

  5. Does this treatment hurt?

You may feel some warmth during treatment, or occasionally mild discomfort similar to an elastic band being ‘twanged’ against your skin, but this is just the light energy being delivered and an anaesthetic isn’t necessary. The Initia system uses the advanced Subzero IceTip™ cooling technology that soothes your skin during your treatment, so your discomfort can be reduced as much as possible.

  6. Are there any side effects?

You may experience some redness, possible swelling, and sensitivity in the treated area for a few days post-treatment, although there is no downtime and you may return to work immediately after treatment. We will provide plenty of aftercare information at your consultation.

  7. Can I still shave during my treatment journey?

Yes, it is actually encouraged that you shave the treatment area a day before your treatment. This helps to remove hair on the skin surface, reducing skin damage from the laser during treatment.
