Everybody wants better, brighter, more beautiful skin – and there’s lots you can do to help achieve it. Here at Lumiere Clinic, your skin clinic in Manchester, our dedicated, experienced and professional team come together to bring you high-quality and effective treatments alongside in-depth knowledge of a range of skin types and concerns. In this post, we’ll be sharing our top skincare secrets.
Know what’s ageing
Beautifying and rejuvenation, our range of cosmetic procedures includes everything from dermal fillers to microneedling. Many of our clients here at our skin clinic look to us as a means of treatment for reducing or improving signs of ageing, such as lines and wrinkles, but knowing how to prevent wrinkles from developing – or, if you have them, worsening – can be highly effective.
There are lots of things that can age the skin – and the effects can be worse if there are a combination of factors at play. One of the most well-known causes of ageing is the sun – so mild, daily sun protection is a must. Lifestyle factors (such as drinking, diet and smoking) can also contribute. Our Dermatologists can help you identify any lifestyle factors that may be causing your skin to age.
Exercise is the key
While exercise has been proven to be essential to good health, did you know it also has benefits for skin health? In fact, studies imply that exercise can boost your circulation and immune system, in turn helping give you that youthful glow.
Exercising most days a week, or every day if you can, could help with skin ageing – though take note that you’ll need to cleanse afterwards. Also, be aware that some treatments here at our Manchester skin clinicmay require you to take a short break from exercise – your Dermatologist will be able to advise you on this.
Get into a good routine
Your daily routine is important for body, mind and even skin. As well as using the right skincare products for your skin as and when required, your routine should also include avoiding products that might irritate your skin (which can make it appear older) and switching out the sun beds for a self-tan product instead.
Finally, cleansing is key – it can help ‘detox’ the skin and clean away dirt, make-up and impurities. When you do cleanse, be sure to do so gently as again, you want to avoid irritating your skin. When booking into our skin clinic, our Dermatologists can talk you through some great ways to cleanse and good products to try, based on your unique skin.
Talk to your Dermatologist
Always keep a close eye on your skin and watch for any changes – skin lesions, pigmentation, moles etc – and be sure to book in with your Dermatologist if you do notice any differences. You can also book in for a consultation to find out our recommendations for your unique skin and any treatments we may recommend here at our Manchester skin clinic.
