Stretch marks are not something you should need to stress over! At Lumiere Clinic we have a number of different treatments that can help reduce the appearance of stretch marks.
A variety of scar-reduction products are available on the market. The best outcomes come from medical therapies that aim to restore the skin in and around the scars. This stimulates the dermis to mend itself.
Can lasers reduce the appearance of my stretch marks?
Laser treatments are the most effective treatments for acne scars; but they can also assist with stretch marks. Laser resurfacing treatments use fractionated technology to remove the epidermis’ surface cells without harming the surrounding healthy skin cells. Furthermore, the heat created by lasers targets the dermis and induces collagen remodelling, resulting in improved skin texture over time.
The fractionated ablative Er:YAG (2940nm) laser resurfacing procedure is available. When compared to regular CO2 laser resurfacing, this type of laser resurfacing has substantially less downtime. Individuals’ downtime varies, but it normally lasts around a week. After the superficial skin cells have shed, the results are usually obvious; but after a few months, continued improvement can be seen.
To notice meaningful effects, 3-6 treatment sessions (each 3 months apart) may be required. Sun protection is essential both before and after the treatment to limit the possibility of pigmentary alterations.
What about Skin resurfacing? Would this be better for me?
The TIXEL treatment is a non-laser resurfacing procedure. It employs an innovative thermo-mechanical device that uses heat to regenerate surface skin cells and collagen formation.
This treatment is safe for most areas of your skin, without the use of laser irradiation. In comparison to standard laser resurfacing, Tixel has less downtime, less skin crusting, and faster skin healing timeframes.
After 1-2 months, results are usually noticeable, and 2-5 monthly treatments are suggested.
