What is it and how does it work?
PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is a treatment that uses your own blood which is rich in growth factors to improve new cell growth from your hair follicles. Like a number of procedures, the more you have, the better the outcome. Most patients tend to see a benefit from the treatment after a few sessions of treatment. PRP treatment is perfect for those with thinning hair in the early stages of pattern hair loss, and those with excessive hair shedding who want to improve hair density and look healthy.
What do patients think of the treatment?
A few weeks back, we sat down with one of our regular PRP patients to ask them how they are finding the treatment and whether they would recommend it themselves.
From the chat we discovered the following:
- The Patient chose the procedure due to hair thinning around the crown area and around hairline.
- Before PRP they tried a number or products but none of which delivered the desired effect.
- They saw results a lot quicker than expected and upon their third treatment their hair was thicker and shed less than before.
- They were impressed that they were able to regrow their hair using a natural method.
