At Lumiere, your Manchester skin clinic, we work hard to create beautiful yet natural-looking results for our clients that make the most of their gorgeous skin and natural features. We’re commonly asked about our lip fillers treatment, especially in light of celebrities being more open about having the treatment, so wanted to write a special post about what the treatment involves and how long you can expect your incredible results to last. Read on to find out more!
Why should I get lip fillers?
Lip fillers are a fantastic way to elevate and enhance your lips. They can add shape and contour; define and outline; and even boost volume and fullness. They’re ideal for those with asymmetry or naturally slim lips, or in cases where age has left them looking thin.
When will I see results?
You may notice an immediate effect, but as some swelling may be experienced, your true results may take a few days to show through. One of the reasons our clients love lip fillers, here at our Manchester skin clinic, is because they have great longevity. In fact, you could experience results for between 6-18 months.
What is the downtime like on lip fillers?
There’s no downtime expected – you could even have the procedure carried out over your lunch break! Of course, some swelling, bruising and tenderness is common after injections anywhere on the body, and your lips can be especially sensitive, so it’s good to bear this in mind when arranging your treatment.
Will I need a lip filler consultation?
Absolutely. This helps us get to know your skin, and allows you to familiarise yourself with our Manchester skin clinic and the process involved in creating that perfect pout. Most clients are suitable for treatment and will benefit from the procedure.
What other treatments could I try?
If you’re looking for general anti-ageing treatments, you might like to try dermal fillers in other areas of the face. These can help soften the appearance of lines and wrinkles around the nose, mouth and chin and could also help plump areas such as the cheeks and tear troughs. We also offer anti-wrinkle injections.
How do I care for my lips after treatment?
- Avoid rigorous exercise and alcohol, which could cause swelling and bruising
- Take care not to touch the lips in the early days, as this could ‘spread’ the product
- Avoid heat treatments which again, could cause side-effects
- Take pain relief (e.g. paracetamol) if desired
