A dermatologist could offer the solutions and care you need if you’re struggling with recurrent eruptions and blemished skin.
Our staff at our Manchester skin clinic can assist you in achieving clearer, more radiant skin by addressing both current blemishes and old scarring.
I have spots; does this mean I have acne?
Acne needs to be accurately diagnosed. If a doctor still needs to diagnose you, Dr Nicole can do so for you at our clinic. It’s crucial to rule out any other skin conditions that could exhibit comparable symptoms, such as rosacea, which can show up as bumpy, flaming, and red skin (and requires a very different course of therapy than acne).
The NHS has a wonderful guide that goes through the different types of spots you might have and other signs that acne may be present.
Is acne treatable?
Yes, your dermatologist or doctor can control and treat acne. However, it’s important to note that dermatologists are experts in caring for the skin, whereas many doctors have a broad knowledge of medical issues.
How can I treat my acne?
The course of your treatment will be heavily influenced by the symptoms you are experiencing and the particular skin issue you have.
– In cases of rosacea, lasers can be effective in treating inflammation.
– If you have scarring, micro-needling and chemical peels can effectively resurface skin.
– Our dermatologists advise chemical peels and skincare for those with oily skin.
– For those with milia, they advise extractions and, once more, look to skin peels.
– Treatment for those with acne specifically entails skincare, peels, and oral medication.
