Silhouette Soft® in Manchester is a minimally invasive, non-surgical facelift procedure that is designed to lift and firm up the face.
With ageing, our skin gradually loses its firmness and elasticity. Together with volume loss in the subcutaneous fat, this gives rise to a saggy appearance. Silhouette Soft® uses a unique, patented resorbable suture with cones along its length, to lift the surface of the skin to reduce skin sagging. This also stimulates the production of collagen to restore firmness in the face, without having a full surgical face lift.*
The thread lift in Manchester is most effective for improving saggy cheeks, nasolabial lines, and the contour of jawline and neck.

Through the repositioning of the fat deposits and elevation of the skin, Silhouette Soft restores the face and neck shape and redefines specifically cheek and jawline contours. The suspension suture and cone technology repositions the skin and fat, particularly around the cheeks and jawline, to give definition and providing immediate effects.
Long-term effects come from the body’s foreign body reaction, which stimulates collagen synthesis from the activation of the fibroblasts present in the skin. This stimulation occurs in the tissue area surrounding the suture and cones. Collagen production is naturally reduced with ageing and therefore this ‘re-stimulation’ is pivotal to providing long-term improvement of the face and neck contours.
The recovery period for Silhouette Soft can vary depending on a variety of factors, and can be anywhere between a few days and up to two weeks.
There are a variety of post-treatment recommendations to aid in recovery and to minimise any potential negative effects on the Silhouette Soft suspension sutures. Your healthcare professional will be able to advise the best aftercare after your Silhouette Soft treatment.
Silhouette Soft® is a sterile resorbable suture with cones along its length. The cones are what hold the suture in place, a bit like scaffolding. The suture is made of Poly-L-lactic acid which is a common resorbable suture material used in surgery.
Those with mild sagging of cheeks, jawline and nasolabial lines are most suitable for thread lift treatment in Manchester. Those with moderate to severe sagging may need a combination of treatments to achieve best results. The quality of skin will be assessed during consultation, and those with very thin or thick skin may not be appropriate for this treatment.
Like all procedures, there is a possibility of side effects, although not everybody experiences them. With thread lift treatment, there can be some swelling, redness, bruising, slight depression or skin irregularity at the entry points. These usually take a few days to a week to settle down. Other side effects such as infections and allergic reactions are rare.
Silhouette Soft® is contraindicated in those who have known allergic reactions or sensitivities to suture materials or biomaterials. Pregnant or breast-feeding women, those aged less than 18 years, or those who have an active infection or an active or history of autoimmune disease are also contraindicated.
