PRP therapy in Manchester is an advanced, innovative anti-ageing and hair loss treatment. It is revolutionary in that it harnesses the healing power within your own blood which contains potent growth factors, compounds and nutrients. When PRP is harvested from blood and re-injected into targeted treatment areas, growth factors are released which trigger new cell production. It is effective for treating hair loss especially male and female pattern hair loss. When used in the face (known as the “Vampire Facial”), it stimulates repair to firm up and rejuvenate your skin.*
Platelet-Rich-Plasma (PRP) works on the basis that the body has healing powers potent enough to improve the signs of ageing and hair growth. At Lumiere Clinic in Manchester, we carry out this treatment by taking a small blood sample. This is then spun in a centrifuge machine that separates the blood cells, serum and platelets. The platelet-rich plasma is extracted and injected directly back into the face or scalp. PRP Platelets release growth factors that help the body repair itself by stimulating cells to generate new tissue. When injected into the skin, this treatment promotes healthy skin and hair growth, and has been shown to be effective at improving fine lines, skin tone and dull skin. When injected into the scalp area, this treatment promotes new cell growth, and is effective at improving hair growth for certain hair conditions.* This treatment is ideal for those who want to improve hair growth without taking or using any medications.
PRP hair treatment in Manchester is minimally invasive and involves no downtime. Results may take a few weeks to develop after 3-6 monthly treatments, and can be maintained with treatments every 3 to 6 months.
*Individual results may vary.

He tells us about how the treatment has gone for him, what the treatment involved and when he first noticed his results. We then take you through the treatment itself to show you how it is done. TRIGGER WARNING: there is needles involved after the 01:29 mark.
PRP hair treatment in Manchester uses healing powers from your own blood to rejuvenate skin. A small blood sample is taken and placed in a centrifuge to separate red blood cells from the platelet-rich plasma.
PRP contains growth factors which help to heal and repair skin and tissue. When they are re-injected to specific treatment areas, they release the growth factors in the exact location in need of rejuvenation. The growth factors stimulate neighbouring cells causing them to proliferate, plump up the skin and increase volume.
At the same time, the plasma signals to other cells so that they move towards the injection site. This includes fibroblast cells which create collagen (a protein that gives skin its youthful look and is produced in smaller and smaller quantities as we age) and pre-adipocyte cells that convert into fat cells. The stimulation of pre-adipocyte cells helps to fill lines and wrinkles while adding contour to the face.*
PRP in Manchester harnesses the regenerative effects from your own platelets. Platelets in PRP release growth factors that stimulate hair growth. These growth factors stimulate dormant or inactive hair follicles to enter an active growth phase.
The effect is more hair growth, healthier hair and reduced hair shedding. It is a suitable treatment for male and female pattern hair loss. It is also helpful for people who suffer from excessive hair shedding.
After taking a small sample (10 to 20ml) of your blood, we extract the PRP and then inject it under your skin using a very fine bore needle in a similar way to dermal filler. This treatment can also be combined with microneedling on the skin. This enables the PRP to work directly on the skin and tissues just beneath the skin for optimal aesthetic improvement. The blood sample element of the treatment is very similar to having a standard blood test. If you do not want to have a blood test or we are unable to obtain a blood sample from you, a skin nutrition or hair growth serum (containing hyaluronic acid, vitamins & minerals) can be used instead, and injected in a similar fashion into your skin.
PRP Therapy in Manchester takes around 20-30 minutes. We usually recommend 3-6 treatments at monthly intervals to achieve the very best results for both hair loss and skin rejuvenation.
The results tend to last until natural ageing occurs, and maintenance treatments are recommended to improve the longevity of the results.
For hair loss, treatments tend to last an average of 6-12 months. After completing a course of treatments, it is recommended that you have a maintenance treatment every 6-12 months.
Further facial rejuvenation, maintenance treatments at 3 to 6 monthly intervals are recommended to maintain the results.
You may experience minor swelling, redness and bruising at the injection site but it will quickly subside.*
The treatment is natural and safe as it uses your body’s own cells rather than man-made or synthetic substances. PRP has been used routinely for a number of years in other areas of medicine including neurosurgery, dentistry and urology.
At Lumiere Clinic in Manchester, PRP therapy works by stimulating the release of numerous growth factors to promote hair growth. Once injected into the scalp, these growth factors released from platelets may act on stem cells in the bulge area of the follicles, stimulating the development of new hair follicles and promoting the growth of new blood vessels. PRP therapy has been shown to be effective for improving hair growth especially for male and female pattern hair loss. It is ideal for those who want to improve hair growth without taking or using any medications.
