Stretch Mark Treatment

This treatment package is to improve stretch mark appearance using a combination of aesthetic treatments.

Stretch marks can cause a lot of distress for those who experience them to varying degrees. However it is no longer something you need to suffer with as we have put together an effective treatment package to help tackle this.

This treatment package involves a combination of three sessions of TIXEL skin resurfacing and Microneedling, either with or without PRP treatment also (alternate between the two treatments, every two-four weeks).

TIXEL

TIXEL is a non-laser, fractional ablative rejuvenation method that safely and non-invasively resurfaces the skin. This skin rejuvenation procedure is performed at Lumiere Clinic by our skilled Consultant Dermatologist, Plastic Surgeon, and highly-qualified laser practitioner. This treatment is less painful and has less downtime (just a few days) than regular CO2 laser treatments. In comparison to CO2 laser, it also generates less scabbing and skin charring.

This is a thermomechanical system that does not use lasers and transmits heat energy to the skin in a controlled manner. It rejuvenates the skin, tightens loose skin (particularly around the eyes and neck), and improves topical product penetration with minimal downtime and discomfort.

Microneedling & PRP

At Lumiere Clinic, we use Dermapen™ for micro-needling as it is able to deliver treatment at a more controlled depth (effectively targeting the dermis) than traditional dermarollers. This makes the procedure more comfortable with less downtime.

Widely recognised as the gold standard in micro-needling technology, Dermapen™ works by stimulating the skin to produce new collagen and elastin for a tightening, lifting and rejuvenating effect.* It’s a natural and safe way to help skin repair and regenerate itself for smoother, brighter, healthier, younger-looking skin.

Additionally you can add PRP to this treatment should you wish.

It is revolutionary in that it harnesses the healing power within your own blood which contains potent growth factors, compounds and nutrients. When PRP is harvested from blood and re-injected into targeted treatment areas, growth factors are released which trigger new cell production. When used in the face (known as the “Vampire Facial”), it stimulates repair to firm up and rejuvenate your skin.

Frequently Asked Questions

Stretch Mark Treatment

  1. Why do you use TIXEL for skin rejuvenation?

TIXEL has similar effectiveness to fractional lasers in improving skin complexion, but at the same time, it causes less charring and crusting, less pain and less downtime than traditional CO2 lasers. It is also sterile device, and safe for the skin around the eyes as there is no laser irradiation involved in this system.

  2. What is Microneedling?

This advanced anti-ageing treatment makes micro-punctures in the skin through a hand-held medical device with tiny needles. The micro-punctures (or channels) trigger a healing response, part of which involves the production of new collagen and elastin. These proteins help build and maintain healthy skin. They also help to smooth fine lines and wrinkles, target pigmentation and sun-damaged skin and treat acne scars and stretch marks.*

At Lumiere Clinic, Manchester, we use Dermapen™ as it delivers treatment at a more controlled depth than other therapies (including traditional dermarollers). This reduces downtime and increases comfort.

  3. How does PRP therapy work to rejuvenate my skin?

PRP hair treatment in Manchester uses healing powers from your own blood to rejuvenate skin. A small blood sample is taken and placed in a centrifuge to separate red blood cells from the platelet-rich plasma.

PRP contains growth factors which help to heal and repair skin and tissue. When they are re-injected to specific treatment areas, they release the growth factors in the exact location in need of rejuvenation. The growth factors stimulate neighbouring cells causing them to proliferate, plump up the skin and increase volume.

At the same time, the plasma signals to other cells so that they move towards the injection site. This includes fibroblast cells which create collagen (a protein that gives skin its youthful look and is produced in smaller and smaller quantities as we age) and pre-adipocyte cells that convert into fat cells. The stimulation of pre-adipocyte cells helps to fill lines and wrinkles while adding contour to the face.*
