Profhilo

Profhilo is an advanced injectable anti-ageing treatment that increases skin hydration and improves skin firmness, resulting in healthier and smoother skin. This highly effective treatment is given by injecting a stabilised form of hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring substance found in the skin. It’s effects boost hydration in the skin and also remodels the sagging skin. Profhilo has one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acids on the market. It can be seen as a hydration booster for the skin, with the added benefit of boosting collagen and elastin to remodel the skin. This treatment is effective to treat dull, dehydrated, crepey skin and those with mild skin laxity on the face, the neck and décolletage.

Profhilo treatment is designed as a course of two treatments, four weeks apart. Best results will be seen four weeks after your second treatment. At this stage, elastin and collagen production is boosted, making the skin look firmer. The treatment effect tends to last up to six months.

How many treatments will I need?

So you achieve the best results possible, it is essential that you have two treatments with a four-week interval in between. You will see the best possible outcome after your second treatment. Your expert dermatologist will discuss this with you during your consultation.
What is the difference between Profhilo and Fillers?

Profhilo is made up of 100% hyaluronic acid, while fillers tend to have other components to bind the hyaluronic acid molecules together. Fillers tend not to migrate in the skin, as it is used to augment certain features such as the lips, cheekbones, jawline etc. Profhilo on the other hand, is designed to spread in the skin to improve hydration and boost collagen and elastin production.
What aftercare is needed?

There is no downtime required for this procedure and you can continue with your daily activities after your treatment. However, we do advise that you avoid wearing makeup, going swimming or doing any strenuous exercise for 24hours after your appointment. This will be outlined prior to your treatment.
What results can I expect from this treatment?

After you have undergone both sessions of your Profhilo treatment, you are likely to notice that your skin is more hydrated and firmer. Your skin texture will also be improved. Fine lines and crepey skin should be far less noticeable.
What does the procedure involve?

During the treatment, your dermatologist will inject the product superficially in the skin using a fine needle. Profhilo is injected into five specific points of the face or neck (depending on the treatment area), called the Bio Aesthetic points. Once the product has been injected, it will distribute itself throughout the face and not stay localised to the injection sites. We can offer a topical anaesthetic (numbing cream) to make the procedure as comfortable as possible.
What do I expect to see immediately after treatment?

Mild swelling and redness at the injection sites, which tend to resolve within 1-2 days. Bruising is a rare possibility. If bruising occurs, it can take 2-3 weeks to clear away. You will not see the results immediately after treatment.
How long do the results of Profhilo last?

The effects of the Profhilo treatment last between 4-6 months after your second treatment. To maintain the results it is recommended that you schedule a repeat appointment every 9-12 months.
How long does the treatment take?

Your treatment time will be around half an hour. As mentioned, you should normally be able to return to your daily activities straight after with no downtime required.
